So I decided to make an early exit. I’ve been lent a place to stay tonight in the seaside town of Deal, Kent.
Its such a relief to leave London, its the first proper, what one might actually call - A Holiday, in a few years now. As I sit hear, I can Look out the window and see the beach, and the small stretch of water, that keeps me away. Not for long, get the ferry tomorrow at 10. Can’t wait.
Well it had to happen, but Diamond Rodgers, has now been banned to all Balfour Beatty Construction Personnel.
So today, I would like to introduce you to one of the masters, of the Modern. Erno Goldfinger, Yes, Ian Flemming, originated his Character from this genius.
The Expression of A true modernist, is in the belief of form follows function, can be clearly seen in this great building. The interior is mimiced in the exterior, but at the same time romantic notions are scattered evrywhere.
The bridge to retreat to your castle, the balcony to view your world.
Ok Ok, so it didn’t quite work out like that, but then, I really believe that this is more down to management & location. These building types were imposed on people, who had no choice.
But the ideals, which are still classic architectural ideas ie sense of place, belonging, do work.
All i can say is go and visit the estate, look for yourself!

by Phillipe Starck, is an insult to Chairs. I had the misfortune to bump into on of these chairs today, and it just made me want to melt it. Now i don’t mind plastic chairs, but thses are just ugly, feel all wrong, and no so good to sit in. Get your lighter out.
But while on this Plastic chair theme, there is one i absolutly adore, and wait for it, it comes from IKEA, for under £20. It is a blatiant design copy of the classic Thonet Model 14 , bentwood chair. One of the nicest things about this chair is its comfort, and even in Plastic this still retains all the feeling & the correct weight of the original. Here is mine in all it glory, a little weather beaten.
And most importantly you can sit in for at least three bottles of wine!!

Passive smoking is back with a vengance, you only have to spot the non smoker in the smoking room, its the new VIP room. Its offically the way to a- ( and this is obvious) look old and Mature, b - the only sound way to hook up. The…. ‘Can I have a Light?’, its the most loaded chat up line ever!

I Think its Called ‘ Scratching on a Monday, well if you’d been to Trailer Trash -Thrid Birthday, you know all about it. Ended up at this disused warehouse, and just got stuck in or as we said on the day - Two See Eye or Two See Bee!

All the worlds Graffiti Artists (or Street Artists) are in town at the moment. Hence their tagging like mad, leave you mark, and all that Jazz. Anyway found this the other night, an Original Faile. They are mates of Judith Supine, whos work i was photographing at the Leonard Street Gallery. The Same evening I met Patrick & Patrick aka Faile, nice lads, i used to just think of Chavs when i thought of Graffiti , but most of them come from fine art backfground. Work that one out.
After all that spiell, there was still a Faile on the street, which coincedentally fitted perfectly into the back of my car, what was i meant to do, leave it for the bin men????
And what a nice side table it makes…..
